Here at Miranda Pre-Kindergarten our curriculum reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), focusing on ‘Being, Belonging and Becoming’. Our program provides meaningful opportunities for children to be active participants and collaborators through exploration, creativity and discovery. Our education approach supports each child’s individual developmental needs, interests and abilities. We believe family input is vital in developing high quality educational programs that facilitate learning and motivate children to challenge their current knowledge. Educators use intentional teaching to scaffold learning through purposeful interactions, aimed at fostering high-level thinking skills. As the ‘co-learner’ our educators are aware of each child’s current interests and use children’s spontaneous ideas to shape the direction of the educational program.
Our Curriculum:
Incorporates play based learning experiences that are structured and open ended
Supports spontaneous activities, using natural and manmade materials from the surrounding environment.
Provides opportunities for exploration, trial and error and experimentation leading to new discoveries.
Incorporates a school readiness focus, providing children with experiences that prepare them for the transition to school.
